As we wake this morning
Watching polls and charts
We invoke your Kingdom, your will
As our first and final vote
As we fight nerves and fears
As we meet the gaze of those we know
And those we don’t
We invite your Kingdom, your will here
As we wake up tomorrow
Possibly as unclear as today
We pray your Kingdom come
Your will be done
For all our words and thoughts
All the political ‘stakes’ and platforms
They are temporary
A gusting of the wind
But You are eternal
Your thoughts and words etched into the bones of time
And only by your power
Do we build anything that lasts
So today, tomorrow, and until the skies unfold
Your Kingdom come
Your will be done
On Earth as it is in Heaven.
